SPIRAL ZONE RADIUS
Can the proper shape in a football make throwing spirals easier? YES! By applying the proper radius at the end of the football, Baden's Spiral Zone is created as the forces applied by the quarterback's index and middle fingers are directed more to the center of the ball. The result is a tighter spiral.
QB SEAMS
Perfection footballs are constructed with raised seams so that a passer's index finger has a "trigger" edge. This allows the quarterback to apply greater torque and achieve faster-rotating spirals. Wind-tunnel testing has proved that faster-rotating spirals achieve greater velocity.
GRIP TECH LACE
The Baden lace extends nose-to-nose further than any other ball. Because a quarterback takes his grip based on lace position, the quarterback's hand is placed closer to the nose of the football in a power position.
FIVE-PLY LINER
If your team's footballs have been used for more than about a week, your quarterback can probably feel that those footballs have expanded and will continue to expand until they resemble a rugby ball. Maintaining size and shape is the job of the internal liner, sewn just inside the cover material.
